The Google Earth images below reflect the nature of the greenfields site prior to development, during construction and post-construction and how the building and landscape relates and responds to its context. The Kuils River originates nearby and flows from the constructed dam at the Tyger Waterfront, into a culvert under Carl Cronje Drive and runs parallel to the road within the site envelope. For this reason, there was a need to consider the river profile, existing natural fauna and flora associated therewith and preserve as much as possible, while still ensuring it accommodated peak flows during the construction process.
