When Landscape Plans are submitted to the authorities, during the planning approval process, often a Tree & Vegetation Survey is required as part of that submission. Such surveys may include historical evidence or existing evidence of mature trees, indigenous, endemic or sensitive Red Data or protected plants. The importance in protecting natural resources is emphasised and may be recorded as part of the process of planning the suitability & optimal location of development, facilities & activities on a site, in order to balance protection and development and ensure an  environmentally responsible approach to development.
