Enrichment of the lives of everyday people and quality living may be achieved through careful stewarding of a country’s resources to meet sustainable urban reconstruction and development objectives by applying best practise principles (Department of Housing, 2000). The 2016 Integrated Urban Development Framework provides a shared vision and goals for urbanisation to provide liveable, safe, resource-efficient urban areas that are socially integrated, economically fair and encourage active participation (COGTA Working Group, 2016).
